Section 1About these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the No Worries App (the "App"), our website (the "Site"), and related services (together, the "Services"), operated by Metacognitive Therapy AS ("we," "us," "our"), Universitetsgata 24, 0162 Oslo, Norway.

By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.

Section 2What No Worries App is — and is not

No Worries App™ is an educational service about Metacognitive Therapy (MCT). It provides video courses, podcasts, a content library, live educational events, and Emma, an AI assistant that explains MCT concepts and helps you navigate the App.

Professional Qualifications: Any instructor, host, or staff member presented as a "psychologist" within our video courses, podcasts, live events, or other content holds the title of clinical psychologist (klinisk psykolog) in Norway, or an equivalent legally recognized title in an EU/EEA country.

Important safety notice

  • No Worries App provides educational and informational content only. It does not provide therapy, medical or psychological treatment, diagnosis, or professional advice.
  • No Worries App is not a substitute for care from a qualified health professional, and not a crisis or emergency service.
  • Do not rely on the Services to diagnose or treat any health condition. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional with any questions about a medical or mental-health condition.
  • If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself, or may be in danger, contact your local emergency services immediately or go to the nearest emergency room.

Section 3Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. During account creation, you will be required to explicitly confirm that you meet this age requirement. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that do not comply.

Section 4Your account

To use most features, you must create an account or sign in using a supported third-party login (e.g., Apple or Google). You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and bear responsibility for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@metacognitivetherapy.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Section 5Payment and AI Credits

Free Trial & Subscriptions: Our app offers a 14-day free trial to new users. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your account automatically converts to a paid monthly subscription. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled.

AI Credits: Use of our AI assistant, Emma, operates on a credit system.

  • Included Credits: Your free trial or monthly subscription may include a specific allotment of credits. These included credits are valid only for the current billing cycle; they do not roll over and will reset at the beginning of your next billing period.
  • Purchased Credits: If you deplete your included credits, you may purchase additional AI credits through the App Store as consumable in-app purchases. Purchased credits will roll over from month to month, but will automatically expire two (2) years from the date of purchase.
  • General Credit Terms: All credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be refunded or exchanged for real currency except where required by mandatory law.

Billing and Cancellation: All payments are processed securely through Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not directly receive or store your payment card details. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your app-store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

EU/EEA Right of Withdrawal: If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you generally have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. However, by choosing to access our digital content immediately during the trial, upon subscription, or when purchasing additional AI credits, you explicitly consent to the immediate performance of the contract and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once access is provided. Refunds are handled by the relevant app store under its policies.

Section 6Emma (AI assistant)

Emma is an AI assistant that answers questions about MCT concepts. The app utilizes artificial intelligence technology provided by third-party services to power Emma. By using Emma, you agree that:

  • Use of Artificial Intelligence: Responses, audio outputs, and transcriptions are generated algorithmically and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate.
  • No Professional Advice: Emma is provided for informational and educational purposes only. You agree that you will not rely on Emma for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. We disclaim all liability for any decisions made or actions taken based on the AI's responses.
  • No Clinical Advice: Emma is not a clinician and does not provide therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or crisis support.
  • Appropriate Use: You will not input sensitive personal or health information into the chat. You will not attempt to bypass Emma's safeguards or generate harmful content.

Section 7Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Services for any unlawful purpose;
  • copy, record, redistribute, sell, or publicly display our content without permission;
  • share your access credentials or circumvent any access or payment controls;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Services or our systems;
  • use automated means (such as bots, scrapers, or spiders) to access or harvest data from the App; or
  • harass, abuse, or harm other participants or our staff during live events.

We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your access to the Services, and delete your account and associated data, if we determine that you have breached this Acceptable Use section or any other provision of these Terms.

Section 8Intellectual property

All content in the Services is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use during your subscription.

Section 9User content and communications

If you submit questions or feedback (e.g., during live events or via support), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that material strictly to operate and improve the Services.

Section 10Live events

Live events feature licensed professionals answering audience questions for educational purposes only. Answers provided are general information, not personal advice, and do not create a therapist–patient relationship.

Section 11Third-party services

Our Services rely on third parties (including Apple, Google, and service providers). Your use of their platforms is subject to their independent terms and policies.

Section 12No emergency or crisis service — Urgent Care and Support Boundaries

No Worries App is not a crisis service and cannot provide emergency help or urgent care. The Services are not monitored for emergencies and must not be used to request urgent assistance.

Urgent Care: If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself, or in immediate danger, you must contact your local emergency services immediately or go to the nearest hospital. It is your sole responsibility to know the correct emergency numbers for the jurisdiction in which you are located.

Support Boundaries: Our customer support channels and support staff are strictly equipped to handle technical issues, account access, billing, and general administration. Our support team is not composed of clinicians and is strictly not equipped, trained, or legally authorized to answer questions or provide guidance related to mental health or psychological treatment. Any inquiries sent to support regarding personal mental health conditions will be redirected to general public crisis resources, and we accept no liability for any delay or failure to respond to such messages.

Section 13Indemnification and Compensation

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Metacognitive Therapy AS, its directors, employees, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal and attorney fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.

Furthermore, we reserve the right to seek full financial compensation and pursue all legal remedies available to us for any direct or indirect damages to our systems, revenue, or reputation caused by your breach of these Terms (including, but not limited to, unauthorized access, content piracy, or system overload).

Section 14Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability where it cannot be restricted by law, including mandatory consumer protections in the EU/EEA and Norway regarding death, personal injury, or gross negligence.

Section 15Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway.

Jurisdiction: You agree that the courts of Oslo, Norway, shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Services.

Consumer Exception: If you are a consumer residing in the EU/EEA, you may also benefit from mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and this jurisdiction clause does not affect your statutory right to bring legal proceedings in the competent courts of your home country.
